Ezekiel Session 1 - Preparation

Wednesday bible study restarts on 21st September.

Start to gather from 10:30am for tea or coffee.  A time of prayer from 11:00 then we go into the bible study.

In the prayer time we generally ask for any prayer requests you wish incuded.   There is usually an opportunity for open prayer.  It is recognised that not everybody is comfortable praying aloud and there is no expectation that anybody do so.  Indeed, a few moments of silence while people bring their own prayer concerns to the Lord is very powerful.

Ezekiel Study - Introduction

This study is based loosely on 'The New Inductive Study Series' book entitled "What is yet to come" by Kay Arthur and Pete De Lacy.  It will not be necessary to buy this book, however, if you choose to it will take your study to a much deeper level.  The book can be bought through the Endis Inspire Shop which is accessable from the Home page of this website.  The cost is £7.98 incuding P&P.  If you would like me to order it for you please email ( cj.duncan@btinternet.com ) .  Otherwise I am sure it can be found through other websites or local Christian bookshops.

Preparation for session 1

In preparation for session 1, please read Chapters 1,2 and 3 of the Book of Ezekiel.

Each Chapter is quite unique and brings to the reader its own special theme.  Give some thought to exactly what each Chapter is saying.

Specifically: -

  • Read verses 1 - 3 of Chapter 1 and consider who, what, where, when and why of these verses.
  • Read all of Chapter 1 and consider what is the theme of the Chapter.
  • Read Chapter 2 and consider the following questions:
    • o   Who is speaking to Ezekiel?
o   What is Ezekiel being asked to do?
o   Where is Ezekiel being sent?
o   Why is it necessary for Ezekiel to be sent?
o   What is the theme Chapter 2.
  • Read Chapter 3.  Consider the following questions:
    • What is the significance of eating the scroll?
    • What happened to Ezekiel after he recieved his call and how did he react to it?
    • How will Ezekiel be accountable if he fails to bring God's Word?
    • How will he be accountable if he brings the Word but is not listened to?

I look forward to seeing you all again on the 21st.

Colin
