• Read Chapters 12, 13 & 14.

Chapter 12
• Read Chapter 12:1-16.
• What are the features of the sign in this passage. • What message is the sign supposed to deliver? • What should the people realise and how? • Read these cross references: o 2 Kings 15:1-7. o 2 Chronicles 36:11-21 o Jeremiah 32:2-5. • How faithful is God to His word? • How precisely are His prophecies fulfilled? • What key phrase in Ezekiel 12:15-16 is the underlying principle for all God swears to do in Judah, Jerusalem, the temple and Zedekiah the king? • What does this tell you about things that happen in your life?
• Read Chapter 12:17-28.
• What is Ezekiel called to do and why? • What message will his action convey? • How far in the future in the fulfilment of this prophecy? • What was the house of Israel saying? • What might people say about biblical prophecy today? • What is the danger of assuming biblical prophecy will not be fulfilled in the foreseeable future? • What is the overall theme of Chapter 12? • From this Chapter, what is God’s lesson for us? • What can we apply to our lives?
Chapter 13.
• Read Ezekiel 13:1-16.
• Has this ‘false prophecy’ been spoken before? o Read Jeremiah 5:12; 14:13-15; 23:16-22, 30-32. • What had God told Israel about false prophets in general before? o Read Deuteronomy 13:1-5 and 18:15-22. • What is consistent about God’s response to these false prophets?
• Read Ezekiel 13:17-23.
• What have you learnt about false prophets and those who sew magic bands on their wrists? • God has dealt with divination before. Read Deuteronomy 18:10-14 and Samuel 15:23. • What do we deal with today? Read 2 Timothy 4:3-4 and 2 Peter 2:1-3. • Compare Ezekiel 13:22 with Ezekiel 13:17-21. What do you learn? • What is the theme of Chapter 13?
Chapter 14
• Read Ezekiel Chapter 14:1-11.
• What have you learnt from marking idols and hearts? • What were those with idols in their hearts doing and how did the Lord respond to them? • What does God want to do? • What will God do if they do not repent? • Why does He do this? • Does God discipline those who approach Him improperly today? o Read Acts 5:1-11 and 1 Corinthians 11:27-32.
• Read Ezekiel 14:12-23.
• Read verses 13-20 again and list what happens when a country sins. • What is the connection to Israel? • What phrase in verse 21 connects the two? • What do you know about the righteousness of Noah, Job and Daniel? o Read Genesis 6:9; Job 1:1,22; 2:10; and Daniel 1:8, 17-21. • In Ezekiel 14:14-20, what does God say about these men’s righteousness? • Whom can they save? • Can a person save another person? • What do you learn about ‘comfort’ in verses 21-23? • What fear or question did Ezekiel have earlier when God showed him judgement on Judah? • What is the answer? • What did you learn about God’s Character that will help you in difficult times? • What is the overall theme of Ezekiel 14?
